Wendy Appel, MA

Wendy is a cultural anthropologist, consultant, public speaker, and author specializing in human and organizational change and transformation. She thinks of herself as a global citizen, has lived in the US, Denmark and Spain, and traveled extensively throughout her adult life. Wendy is known as committed, talented, confident, forthright, a synthesizer, integrator, inspirer, visionary and trusted friend. She is passionate about the health and wellbeing of individuals, teams, organizations, communities and planet Earth.

Wendy has her consulting practice in Europe working with senior executives as a thought partner, strategist, and coach supporting business transformation and change management efforts. Because Wendy has worked in business operations, as a line manager, and as both an internal and external consultant running her own business, she offers her clients a unique and well rounded perspective and experience in both operations and people strategy to produce business results.

She knows her way around health care systems and health care practitioners having worked in or consulted to health care organizations for 12 years. Wendy spent eight years at Kaiser Permanent as a Senior OD Consultant working with health care providers and teams, administration, and senior leaders in national functions. Prior to joining Kaiser, Wendy had her own consulting business, facilitated at Stanford Graduate School of Business for the Group and Interpersonal Dynamics course, worked as a product director for Thomson Publishing in their nascent electronic publishing division, as a multimedia producer for Arnowitz Studios creating an award winning CD-R Animals!, and as a senior account executive for Lexis/Nexis.

Wendy has been a keynote speaker on Making the Shift becoming more awake and aware humans, as well as a panel expert on International Change Management at a global conference, and Spirituality in the workplace at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco. She has been immersed in matters of Diversity and authored a chapter in Working Together: Producing Synergy by Honoring Diversity by Angeles Arrien and Mikhail Gorbechev.

Wendy received her Masters Degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, San Francisco, CA and her Bachelors degree in Spanish & Ibero-American Studies, at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She also spent a year studying at the University of Madrid, Spain, is fluent in the Spanish language, and studied both French and Portuguese.
